Sometimes the quad style Twin Cities MN townhomes are called “four corners” style because that is the way they are configured. There will also be some in this list with four-in-a-row style, but the “four corner” ones have some unique advantages over other style townhomes. They tend to have larger yard areas with established trees. Many of them were built as split entries in the 80’s and 90’s so the trees are mature. If you have dogs or kids, or just like to be outside, these are for you. Also, they usually have a deck, and most of them have walkout basements. Generally there is a vaulted ceiling in the upstairs level, a walkthrough master bath upstairs and a spacious walk-in closet. The basement almost always has a family room with fireplace, which is an advantage over the two story slab on grade townhomes. The two-story slab on grade townhomes in this price range usually only have a living room but no family room available for general living area. The lower level in these quad Twin Cities MN townhomes usually also feature a 3/bath, big utility room, and sometimes an additional bedroom. Two story garages are the norm for these units. It’s true that some of these are almost 40 years old, but many of them have been remodeled and updated and are absolutely gorgeous. Most of these are quite soundproof, so I don’t think your new neighbors will make a complaint to the HOA about any disturbances you might make. Generally speaking, these styles of town houses are part of HOA’s that have more liberal dog policies.

Wide Price Range for Quad Townhomes in the Greater Minneapolis Metro Area
Right now you can find quads in the 200s in Woodbury, Brooklyn Park, Shakopee, Shoreview and Blaine. Expect to find some that back up to wooded areas. Others have been thoughtfully remodeled with new windows, countertops and stainless steel kitchen appliances. If you are shopping in the 300’s you can find some gorgeous new construction quad townhomes in Blaine and Forest Lake.
